"Tupiza to Salar de Uyuni and lots of salt" Freyal's photos around Uyuni, Bolivia

Freyal's travel blog entry: "We packed up the jeep and and piled in with our driver, Vincente and cook, Porfi and the journey to the salt flats began. We had opted for just the four of us - Janine, Gary (uk), Bart (Belgium) and myself which was a wise choice as we were about to spend many hours bumping along and the cars who had six people in them looked a little like an uncomfortable sardine can. We had also opted to leave from Tupiza rather than Uyuni as it meant we had a little extra scenery to enjoy and our fifth day was added on to the usual trip to hike one of the old volcanoes that lies at the edge of the salt flats! The days involved alot of driving as there was so much to see. We had heard many stories about **** companies with vehicles that break down all the time and rubbish food...but we were lucky, all went pretty smoothly with a few minor stops to check something engine related and we were on our way usually in a few minutes. We travelled again through such varied landscapes with mountains, active and inactive volcanoes and very sparse and harsh, desolate areas.....lots of desert. There were many lakes in different colours...red...bright blue..green...all quite beautiful. We also had a soak in thermal pools surrounded by a lake and mountains and saw some geysers.
