I really like the speed and simplicity of setting up the cooking time with this smart pot slow cooker, as compared to setting up a the timer for a fully programmable slow cooker. With this very clever programmable smart pot slow cooker and a few minutes preparation time in the morning, you can cook a 6 pound roast, or easily feed 7-8 people a delicious, creamy casserole or a tempting dessert.
If this is your first crock pot, or your first 6 quart crock pot, you will enjoy the selection of recipes in the instruction book. They will get you started and show you how full your slow cooker is supposed to be. Please note the instructions say "To avoid over or under cooking, always fill the stoneware half to three-quarters full to conform to recommended cook times." As you can appreciate, if you use less liquid than is recommended, the dish you are making may not turn out as you would hope. I recommend you follow the ingredient, assembly and cooking instructions to the letter, and then if you want to adapt them when you next cook the dish, you can.
I love how simple this smart pot crock pot is to program. You just select one of the four automatic time settings (2, 4, 6 or 8 hours) and then choose temperature, (high or low) and you are done! This programmable slow cooker automatically switches to warm mode when the programmed cooking time is completed. Couldn't be easier! Just like the clean up - the liner and lid are dishwasher safe, so clean up is a breeze.
